Next, have lunch with the group you’ll be working with side by side, and then spend the afternoon enjoying this World UNESCO Heritage City and relaxing before the emotional week ahead. During the first night’s dinner, participate in an important orientation, preparing you for the week ahead and building group synergy.

With tummies full, you will be transported to the amazingly beautiful Lake Atitlan and enjoy some free time in the afternoon before having dinner.

DAY 3 – FREE TIME TO EXPLORE THE LAKE

After breakfast, which will be served at the hotel, you will have the day to explore Lake Atitlan and the many different communities that surround the lake, most of which can only be accessed by boat. It is easy and inexpensive to hop on one of the many boats that go between the different towns and make a day of adventuring. On this day, lunch will not be provided and we will meet again at the hotel in the evening for dinner.

DAY 4 – MOVE TO TECPÁN AND WORK ON BOTTLE SCHOOL PROJECT

After breakfast, drive to Tecpán and check into the hotel. After checking in, you will be transported to the community in which we will be working and experience a welcome ceremony. Work on the bottle school project will commence after the welcome ceremony and lunch will be served in the community by our amazing private chef. After lunch, work more on the bottle school before returning to Tecpán for dinner.

DAY 5 – WORK ON BOTTLE SCHOOL PROJECT

After breakfast, drive to the community and spend the morning working on the bottle school, as well as partake in an eye-opening community hike in which you will visit local homes and see how the locals live. The community will present a closing ceremony, after which it’s time to say goodbye to your new friends and head back to Tecpán.
