Book now to reserve your spot on Penny Popov’s bottle school trip: June 21st – 27th, 2018

My sister shared with me her adventures through Hug It Forward to Guatemala for 2 years before I actually had the opportunity to go myself, in June 2015. I was excited to go, but I was not prepared to be so touched by the kindness, hospitality, organization and love that emanated through every aspect of the trip.

The Mayan people celebrated our arrival with a program that included an ethnic dance by the children and pine needles on the ground that filled the air with the scent of pine, it was delightful and brought me to tears to think we were there to serve them and the table was turned as they welcomed us so enthusiastically. This set our minds and heart for the rest of our journey.

Helping to build the bottle schools entailed, painting, stuffing water bottles with trash, bending rebar, shoveling gravel and simple jobs that anyone can accomplish. The work was not hard, but fun when done in a group.

Are you passionate about helping the less fortunate? Do you value education? If so join in this adventure you will carry in your heart for a lifetime.

Love love love,

Penny

Fundraising for bottle schools

You might also like to fundraise for Hug It Forward bottle schools. Fundraising for bottle schools is optional – it is not a requirement of participating in a bottle school trip.

If you choose to fundraise, we suggest a $250 fundraising goal, but some people choose to do more or less than this. It’s really up to you – how much you think your friends and families can give, how creative you can be, and how much time you’re prepared to put into it.

See more information about fundraising.
