I can tell from my previous experience that I didn’t know what to expect as it was a last minute decision, the trip was announced at one of our events and 4 days later I was in a plane to Guatemala. The thing that hit me the most throughout the entire experience was the gratitude of the teachers, parents and children. The entire time I felt like they were doing more for me than I could ever do for them.
The trip was truly a life changing experience. I had never been on a “vacation” where you didn’t take, this was about giving and yet I got so much more back in return. The communities we visited not only did an incredible job welcoming us but also sharing their beautiful rich Guatemalan culture with us. This was a trip filled with emotions from laughter and tears, to hard work, compassion and fun. Never had I experienced so many feelings on a vacation, that is why my desire is to go back and share with others those same emotions as well as to create awareness for the incredible project that Hug It Forward is doing in Central America and get others involved.

Fundraising for bottle schools
To participate in this trip, we also ask that you fundraise for Hug It Forward bottle schools. We suggest a $250 fundraising goal, but some people choose to do more or less than this.
