Greetings and Warm Tidings Change Agents!

Drè Dougiee reporting live here! I first want to welcome and thank you for taking the time visit this landing page! I’m proud and blessed to announce that “Hug It Forward” The WV Foundation and i are putting together another trip to the beautiful country of Guatemala. Guatemala and the people there hold a special place in my heart and I’m beyond excited to return and continue to serve the Guatemalan people, the children and the communities alike.

My first project in 2018 lead me to San Martín, Jilotepeque, in the historic village of “El Rosario Canajel.” This Community was full of love and embraced us with open arms. We were the first foreigners to ever step foot in this village and to have the opportunity to play with the children, learn their culture of dance, make tortilla from scratch and have the students of the middle school perform a historical and traditional Mayan piece was absolutely breath taking. The rich culture and strong community values simply overshadowed their lack of educational infrastructure and monetary resources. However, what they lack in funds they make up in spirit! There is not a single thing these people take for granted and it was eye opening every day i was there. I was even fortunate enough to visit a special needs school and love on them with my time and charisma, which is all these beautiful souls need.

This is a complete mind, body and life changing experience and for those who truly want and have a heart to serve, i wish the same feeling i had, for all of you.

My first trip to Guatemala with the Hug It Forward team took place in June 2018. It was the most amazing, life changing and invigorating experience I have ever encountered. I had been wanting to go on a volunteer trip for years, but finding the right one took time. I wanted to make sure I was dedicating myself to a cause that would impact people forever. The memories I created with that country and their people will always be part of me. The light and love on those children’s faces will always glow within me. I have never met so many people that welcome you with such open arms and hearts!

My desire to embark on these journeys stems from very deep within. I am studying Child Psychology, and helping children such as those that I was blessed to meet during my first trip, is my lifetime passion. Not too many people are fortunate enough to have what many of us have. We as a team can accomplish so much! There are millions upon millions that are struggling. And they need us. We may not be able to help every single one in the world, but if we impact even just one, that’s more than the world to them.
