Book now to reserve your spot on Mallorie and Sam’s bottle school trip: July 25-31, 2016
About a year ago, a very good friend of ours came back from Guatemala with stories of adventure, and a whole lot of love. She shared that she had worked side by side with a community and kids in Guatemala to create schools out of bottles. Being teachers and explorers, we were eager to find out more and quickly booked a trip after looking at several Hug It Forward videos and pictures. We thought we would make an impact on kids, but we didn’t expect how much of an impact the kids AND the communities would make on us.
To say a Hug It Forward trip is incredible is an understatement. It’s something life altering. You look at things in a different way. You learn to appreciate what you have and more. You long to try new things. You become family with people who were once strangers only a few days before. You learn what love truly is.
From the moment we returned from Guatemala, we filled out the application to become leaders. We’re counting down the days to our return.
In Guatemala, you will work will have the opportunity of a lifetime to work with the kids and communities by helping them create a beautiful and safe place to learn and play. Building schools goes beyond learning for the kids. Bottle schools will impact Guatemala in a positive way generations down the road. You will be learning about the civil war, immigration, and Mayan culture from the beautiful people of Guatemala. You will take chances, make mistakes, and get MESSY and it will be the most fun you have ever had.

Fundraising for bottle schools
You might also like to fundraise for Hug It Forward bottle schools. Fundraising for bottle schools is optional – it is not a requirement of participating in a bottle school trip.
If you choose to fundraise, we suggest a $250 fundraising goal, but some people choose to do more or less than this. It’s really up to you – how much you think your friends and families can give, how creative you can be, and how much time you’re prepared to put into it.
