Guatemala has our hearts. We have had the privilege of leading teams to Guatemala since 2012. This will be Linda’s 6th, Kim’s 8th, and Lisa’s 7th trip. We will be leading our next Bottle School trip to Guatemala June 23-29, 2022.
Hug it Forward has partnered with Serve the World Today to offer an experience of a lifetime. You can make a difference in the lives of hundreds of people by volunteering for a week in Guatemala. The Hug it Forward team will make you feel right at home during the well organized week of events and activities.
A smile is a universal language. What a rewarding experience to be a part of something so big! The kids and community members jump in and work right along side us. What a blessing to watch the kids participate in the building of their schools that will stand long after they go on in life. This project is not about the volunteers, it’s about the pride and sustainability of the village. It is so heartwarming to see the pride in the eyes of the Guatemalan parents as we interact with their children.
A Bottle School trip is a vacation about serving, connecting, and participating in a truly, unique, life-changing experience. From working on the school site to playing with the children, from touring the villages to touring the Mayan Ruins, from the opening ceremony full of singing and dancing to the closing ceremony full of tears and hugs you’ll be glad you decided to join us. The cost of the bottle school trip is $1,499 per person.
You can reserve your spot by paying a $750 non-refundable deposit by February 23rd, 2022, with the balance ($749) payable in full by May 23rd, 2022.

Available booking options below…
Option 1: Pay using Paypal’s “Send Money” feature (fees do not apply for those that have a PayPal balance or bank account linked to PayPal)
- Log into Paypal (www.paypal.com)
- Click the “Pay & Get Paid” tab and choose the “Send Money” option
- Enter our email address servetheworldtoday@gmail.com and the amount $1,499 (or $750 if you are just paying a deposit now).
- Choose which payment option you want to use (either PayPal balance or bank account)
- Change “Paying for an item or service” to “Sending to a friend”. If you have a PayPal balance or your bank account is linked to PayPal, you will not have to pay fees. If neither of these are the case, please choose Option 2 or Option 3
- In the “Message” box on the following page, please enter which trip you are booking!
- That’s it!
Option 2: Mail us a check (fees do not apply)
- Mail a check payable to “Serve The World Today” to:

- Send us an email to adam@hugitforward.org – please tell us:
- That you sent a check and what the amount was ($1,499 per person, or $750 if you are just paying a deposit now)
- Which trip the check is for
- The name on the check
Option 3: Pay using Zelle – please check with your bank to see if they offer Zelle as an option for transferring money (fees do not apply)
- Log into your online banking
- Choose to transfer money using the “Zelle” option
- Enter our email address info@hugitforward.org and the amount $1,499 (or $750 if you are just paying a deposit now)
- In the “Message” box, please enter which trip you are booking!
- Send us an email to adam@hugitforward.org telling us that payment has been sent via Zelle
Option 4: Paying by PayPal (fees apply)
Click the “Buy Now” button on the right to pay the $1,499 cost of your voluntourism trip (plus $52.81 in PayPal fees).

Fundraising for bottle schools
You might also like to fundraise for Hug It Forward bottle schools. Fundraising for bottle schools is optional – it is not a requirement of participating in a bottle school trip.
If you choose to fundraise, we suggest a $250 fundraising goal, but some people choose to do more or less than this. It’s really up to you – how much you think your friends and families can give, how creative you can be, and how much time you’re prepared to put into it.
