Book now to reserve your spot on Kristin Bezotosny and Melisa Parkins’ bottle school trip: July 5-11, 2018
“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” ~Neale Donald Walsch
We met 10 years ago and our friendship has lead to many great adventures. Being educators, we hoped to find the opportunity to ‘make a difference’ by building a school. An internet search lead us to Hug It Forward. In the summer of 2015 we had the privilege to participate in our first Bottle School project and our amazing experience compelled us to return as co-leaders in 2016. Although our groups started out as strangers, we worked, laughed and learned together as a team. By the end, it was hard to believe we had only been together a week.
This Voluntourism trip is like no other adventure you will go on. Being welcomed into a Guatemalan community, surrounded by adults and children who are eager to build their school is still something no words can describe. Simply put, it is life-changing. Learning about Guatemalan history, culture, and customs through visiting ruins, travelling through the beautiful countryside, and hearing heartfelt stories of life in Guatemala will transform your perspective of this wonderful country.
It is amazing how much your life can change in a week!
We are very excited to be going back for our third time and look forward to meeting new people, making new friends and creating new memories. We hope you can join us!
Hugs,
Kristin & Melisa

Fundraising for bottle schools
You might also like to fundraise for Hug It Forward bottle schools. Fundraising for bottle schools is optional – it is not a requirement of participating in a bottle school trip.
If you choose to fundraise, we suggest a $250 fundraising goal, but some people choose to do more or less than this. It’s really up to you – how much you think your friends and families can give, how creative you can be, and how much time you’re prepared to put into it.
