Book now to reserve your spot on the American Sealants’ bottle school trip: May 6th – 12th, 2021

As many of you know, Jerry and I were blessed about 6 years ago when we went to Guatemala to help build a bottle school for underprivileged children.

We have been able to travel the world and have seen some amazing places. We have also seen places that are tragic – people living in corrugated tin homes, with dirt floors, no running water, etc. The place we visited to build a school in Guatemala was no different.
Women walked up to three hours one way with a three-gallon container on their head to get water for their home. They have dirt floors and their main food is corn, rice, and beans. Children often walk hours to get to school.

The government does not provide schools, but once a school was built, it would provide teachers. It was great to be able to lend a hand and help out, help break the cycle and help children get an education. The trip we took forever changed us. I think we got back more than we gave. The people, the culture, the ability to assist others are all very powerful. We look forward to seeing you all on the trip and creating a special memory that will last a lifetime.

Fundraising for bottle schools

You might also like to fundraise for Hug It Forward bottle schools. Fundraising for bottle schools is optional – it is not a requirement of participating in a bottle school trip.

If you choose to fundraise, we suggest a $250 fundraising goal, but some people choose to do more or less than this. It’s really up to you – how much you think your friends and families can give, how creative you can be, and how much time you’re prepared to put into it.
