District 6970 Bottle School Project Trip: March 30 – April 5, 2017. Limited room, reserve your spot today!
¡Bienvenido! Are you ready to change the world?
Rotary District 6970 is excited to announce an exciting international service project opportunity for your club! As you may know, our district has raised enough money to sponsor a three-classroom bottle school in Guatemala, in collaboration with our nonprofit partner Hug it Forward. We invite you to join us as we embark on a transformational journey, to help kids and communities build schools out of trash in the rural area of San Martin Jilotepeque. This school will serve as an educational platform for thousands of children throughout the next hundred years, giving them the opportunity to increase their literacy and improve their well-being through education.
In addition to helping community members build a bottle school, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Mayan ruins, walk the streets of picturesque Antigua, and experience Guatemalan culture, food, and hospitality. Also, if you’re worried about food and sanitation… don’t be! Cristy, our personal chef on the trip, will be taking excellent care of us. We want to warn you in advance, that this is not your typical vacation getaway; it is a life changing experience.
Throughout the past 80 months, Hug it Forward has built 71 schools in Guatemala; if you’re interested in making a hands on, measurable impact, this is the trip for you. I encourage you to join us as we continue to change the world, one school at a time!
With love and gratitude,

Fundraising for bottle schools
You might also like to fundraise for Hug It Forward bottle schools. Fundraising for bottle schools is optional – it is not a requirement of participating in a bottle school trip.
If you choose to fundraise, we suggest a $250 fundraising goal, but some people choose to do more or less than this. It’s really up to you – how much you think your friends and families can give, how creative you can be, and how much time you’re prepared to put into it.
